Nowadays, maintaining a healthy lifestyle is quite a hefty task. We usually neglect our health which causes some major problems in our body. Then we regret it that only if I would’ve taken care of my health, none of this would’ve ever happen. So, before you contrite it even more, work on it, work on your health & try to improve it. There are many ways to do it, it’s all over the internet, there are many books and there are even shows made regarding how to take care of your health but what if you get
a chance to improve it from the very start!

  • Children- If you worked on your health as child then you won’t be regretting. We were all told to eat veggies when we were younger and now most of us are telling our kids the same because why not most of the fruits and vegetables are full of nutrients, low on calories and fats which makes it a healthy choice for our young ones. The specific nutritional choice you and your cherub make is crucial in every way. There is no lack in activity choices that you can make for your child, and all kids has some or other kind of exercise that they like, you can get them interested in some or other kind of activities when they are young because exercise and activity are habits that lasts long.
  • Teenage- With a teen life comes a lot of pressure and responsibilities, including the pressure to fit in and the responsibility of doing well in school, with school many other things like, studying, sports even a part time job so amidst so many things leading a healthy life can be quite challenging. As a teen, it is important to remember all the habits because they will carry you throughout your life. To remain healthy as a teen the most important thing is maintaining a healthy weight. Good eating habits and regular exercise are compelling to your health and well being. Teens should get 60 minutes of exercising each day. These exercises can include aerobics, stretch exercises and strength training, it is important to find an activity that you enjoy doing. Good eating habits are necessary in maintaining healthy weight. Eat all types of food and remember it is okay to have an occasional treat, avoid soda pop and eat at least five serving of fruit and vegetable each day. Evade bad habits like tobacco, alcohol and drugs they have a really bad affect on you, it causes a long term effect on your body and can lead to serious conditions like lung or heart disease.
  • Adults- More than two third of adults are considered as obese. Excess weight can lead to heart disease and diabetes. Creating plans for eating and physical activity may help improve your health. Body mass index (BMI) is one way to tell whether you are at a healthy weight, overweight, or obese. It measures your weight in relation to your height. A BMI of 18.5 to 24.9 is in the healthy range. A person with a BMI of 25 to 29.9 is considered overweight, and someone with a BMI of 30 or greater is considered obese. Pay attention to what, when, how often and how much you eat can be the first step towards your health. Nutrients—like vitamins, minerals, and dietary fibre—nourish our bodies by giving them what they need to be healthy.

It is advised for adults to eat the following foods because they are rich in nutrients:

  1. Fruits and vegetables.
  2. Whole grains, like oatmeal, whole-wheat bread, and brown rice.
  3. Seafood, lean meats, poultry, and eggs.
  4. Fat-free or low-fat milk and cheese, or substitutes (like soy or rice milk) that are high in vitamin D
    and calcium.
  5. Beans, nuts, and seeds.
  • Middle Age- At this age of life cycle, adults begin to experience the outward signs of aging, your joints start aching after a highly active day and body mass starts to grow hoard even skin loses elasticity. Many people in their late thirties and in their forties notice a decline in endurance, the onset of wear-and- tear injuries and changes in the digestive system. Wounds and other injuries also take longer to heal. Body composition changes due to fat deposits in the trunk. To maintain health and wellness during the middle-aged years and beyond, it is important to:
  1. Maintain a healthy body weight.
  2. Consume nutrient-dense foods.
  3. Drink alcohol moderately or not at all.
  4. Be a non-smoker.
  5. Engage in moderate physical activity at least 150 minutes per week.
  • Old age- Coping with age is difficult, no matter how old you are. In these old age that are many changes and transition that one has to go through- kids moving away, loss of parents, friends, changes or end of your career, declining health and even loss of independence. All these losses are almost natural but if that loss is balanced with positive outlook, it becomes easy to stay healthy at this age. As you age, your relationship to food may change along with your body. A decreased metabolism, changes in taste and smell, and slower digestion may affect your appetite, the foods you can eat, and how your body processes food. The key is to figure out how to adapt to your changing needs. Now, more than ever, healthy eating is important to maintain your energy and health. Load up on high-fiber fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Your whole digestive system does slow as you age, so fiber is very important. Consume fiber-rich foods such as whole grains, fruit, and vegetables. They will help you feel more energetic and give you fuel to keep going. Watch out for dehydration. Because of physical changes, older adults are more prone to dehydration. So make sure you are drinking plenty of fluid, even if you don’t feel thirsty. If you’re not getting enough water, you’re not going to be as sharp and your energy will suffer.
